Talking about its preparation, it’s very easy to cook, having a very few ingredients that are easily available in your kitchen pantry. Therefore, it’s time to delve into the recipe of this soft and hot Halwa and relish in your fasting period.

Required Ingredients


  • 3 to 4 tbsp Ghee
  • ½ cup of Singahre ka Atta (water chestnut flour)
  • 1 cup of Hot Water
  • 1/3 to ½ cup of Sugar
  • 1/8 tsp of Cardamom Powder
  • 3 to 4 Almonds (chopped)

How to prepare Singhare ka Halwa


  • Take a medium-sized wok (kadai) and heat the oil in it over the medium flame.
  • Once, it gets hot, add Singhare ka Atta and mix well.
  • Roast it with continuously stirring, till it turns to light brown in color. It offers nice aroma at the time of roasting.
  • While this is getting roasted, take a bowl of water and boil it.
  • Now, add this boiling water to the roasted flour and stir quickly, so to avoid lumps.
  • Add sugar when the whole water is absorbed by the roasted flour. Mix well and keep stirring.
  • As the sugar melts, it will become slightly wet and shiny.
  • Keep the cooking and stirring continuously till the ghee starts leave from the Halwa. That time, switch off the flame.
  • Finally, add cardamom powder and mix properly.
  • Singahre ka Halwa is ready, transfer it into a bowl and garnish it with chopped almonds.
