Today, we are introducing a new version of burger with a new flavour and taste, which will surely replace the normal burger that you have been eating since the beginning. Garam Masala Quinoa Burger with Raita, a unique burger invented by a 9-year old Indian girl, Shreya Patel from Illinois, US, who is very much fond of cooking. For preparing this dish at Healthy Lunchtime Challenge 2015 held in the US, she has won the prize. The program was hosted by the First lady Michelle Obama and when she served this delicious dish to the Obama couple, she left them both awestruck.

Thus, we are bringing the recipe of this mouth watering burger including different ingredients and is very easy to prepare, consuming a very few time. Let’s start the recipe of “Garam Masala Quinoa Burger with Raita”:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cooked chickpea (kaabuli chane)
  • 1/2 cup of quinoa (rajgira)
  • 1/4 cup of broccoli (green gobi)
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped onion
  • 1 small boiled potato
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder (jeera)
  • 1/4 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove of finely chopped garlic
  • 1/4 tsp of grated green chili
  • 1/4 cup of bread crumbs
  • Salt and pepper powder according to the taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 cup of curd (dahi)
  • 1/4 cup of grated cucumber (kheera)
  • 4 whole wheat buns
  • Sliced Tomatoes
  • Spinach leaves

How to prepare

  • Crush the chickpea by using food processor or by hands.
  • Add crushed chickpea along with quinoa, broccoli, onion, potato, garam masala, cumin powder, ginger, garlic, chili and bread crumbs in a large bowl.
  • Combine them all properly. For flavour, add salt and pepper powder into the mixture.
  • Blend the mixture properly and make 4 round patties of it.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan over the medium flame. Add the patties over it and cook them for 5 minutes, until it turns to brown and crispy.
  • Now, turn over them and again cook for next 5 minutes.
  • Patties are cooking, in between, take a small bowl and mix curd and cucumber well into it.
  • For flavour, add salt and pepper powder into the mixture.
  • Finally, place the patties on the buns and garnish with the Raita, tomato and spinach leaves.
  • Garam Masala Quinoa Burger with Raita is ready.
