This year, fast-food chain, McDonalds India is focusing on its next plan- brand extension, delivery business, and innovation. It will give a boost to its revenues in the country. McDonalds has been operating in India for 20 years and continually strengthen its position. McCafe– a flagship brand of the company that has significantly boosted its revenues in the previous year.

Mrs. Smita Jatia, MD of Hardcastle Restaurants and the master franchisee of McDonalds India stated,

“We are emphasizing on innovation and our brand extensions like McCafes and our delivery business, which have significantly added to our revenues”.

Moreover, the chain also providing healthy offerings to give a tough fight to its competitors. And this year, it will come up with new changes in the menu, which will be disclosed soon.

This time, McDonalds is facing cut-throat competition from other international chains of restaurants, such as Burger King, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Dunkin Donuts and many more. According to the company, its home deliveries have tripled in the past seven years, so it’s aiming to build this platform more strong. The burger category is growing at a healthy clip along the western fast food category, which is growing at 13-15 percent every year.

Last year, McDonalds India had told about its plan of doubling its outlets by 2020 from the present 216 with an investment of INR 750 Crore. As McCafes were introduced in 2014 and currently, 62 outlets are running. It’s expected that by 2017, it will go up to 140.
