The dishes can be prepared easily at home by using most of the ingredients that are already available in your kitchen pantry.

As, we are introducing a recipe of spicy and delicious “Kadai Prawn” having lots of veggies that enhance its taste and texture. This Kadai Prawn goes well with the hot steamed rice, but you can have it with Roti, Paratha and Puri, as per your choice. We are definitely sure that at the time of cooking this dish, your mouth starts to drool and will be out of control while waiting to see the first glance of this palatable dish. Kadai Prawn (Jhinga) Recipe:

Ingredients

Serves: 3 to 4

Ingredients

  • 300 gm Prawn (jhinga)
  • 2 cups of Onion (chopped)
  • 1 and ½ cups of Tomato (chopped)
  • 1 large Capsicum
  • 3 Green Chilies
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • ¼ tsp of Cloves Powder
  • Salt according to taste
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • A pinch of Asafoetida (Hing)
  • ½ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tsp of Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 3 tbsp Coriander Leaves (chopped)

Ingredient For Marination

  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder
  • ½ tsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • 1 tsp Salt

How to cook it:

  • Immerse prawn with the ½ tsp turmeric powder and ½ tsp salt for 15 min.
  • After that, wash them properly.
  • Again immerse with the remaining turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder and ginger-garlic paste for next 15 min.
  • Heat oil in a wok (kadai) and add asafoetida, cumin seeds. When starting to crack, add ginger-garlic paste and fry, till light golden brown.
  • Now, add onion and green chili, fry them, till soft.
  • Add tomato and cook for 5-7 minutes on medium flame, until tomato gets mashed.
  • After that, add red chili, turmeric powder, coriander powder, pepper powder, cinnamon and cloves powders.
  • Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Now, put Prawns, capsicum, salt and blend them well.
  • Cover it and cook for 10-12 minutes, till prawns get cooked properly.
  • Add garam masala, coriander leaves and stir well.
  • Simmer for a minute and switch off the gas.
  • Kadai Prawn is ready, serve it with Roti, Paratha, or even hot Rice.
