As we have already mentioned one Chicken recipe previously and now, we are here the next recipe of the same- Chicken Tikka, a very popular Indian Chicken dish, which is filled with lots of flavours. Many of you know the meaning of “Tikka”, but those, who are not aware of it, just telling them. The word “Tikka” means pieces, bits and chunks and these Chicken pieces are soaked in the special spices and curd, after which, they are grilled on skewers or toothpicks, till turn to brown and soft.

In Britain, it’s counted as one of the best dishes or even other parts of the world also. In India, it has been very small variation in the preparation, but that changes add delectable taste to it. Once you have cooked this dish at home, you would just fall in love with its savory taste and want to prepare it again and again. These are the following steps for preparing the Chicken Tikka:

Ingredients

  • 300 gm Boneless Chicken

Ingredients for the first marinade

  • 2 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • ¼ tsp Kashmiri Red Chilly Powder
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • Salt according to taste

Ingredients for the second marinade

  • 3 to 4 tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 2 tbsp Gram Flour (besan)
  • 1 cup of Curd (dahi)
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Ginger-Garlic Paste
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ½ Garam Masala Powder
  • Salt according to taste

Directions to prepare it

  • Cut boneless chicken into small pieces or cubes.
  • Prepare marinade with ginger-garlic paste, Kashmiri red chilly powder, salt and lemon juice.
  • Now, immerse the chicken pieces in the marinade and blend them properly.
  • Let the marinade keep aside for 1 to 2 hours.
  • Heat the oil in a pan or a wok (kadai) and add ajwain, besan in it.
  • Keep the flame very low and fry for a few minutes.
  • After that, turn off the flame.
  • Now, add this mixture to a bowl containing curd.
  • And, put Kashmiri red chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and garam masala powder into it. Mix them all properly.
  • Whisk the curd mixture thoroughly through the blender, until it gets smooth paste.
  • Add cooking oil to it and again mix.
  • Now, add the marinated chicken pieces to the mixture and keep aside for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Arrange the marinated chicken pieces on the skewer one by one.
  • Preheat your oven at 200°C temperature.
  • Place the skewers on the grill racks and roast the chicken cubes, until they get brown and crispy.
  • The Delicious Chicken Tikka is ready.
