In India, people prefer snacks more than the main course and today, we are going to mention the recipe of one more snack named as Hara Bhara Kabab, which is another vegetable cutlet, prepared with spinach and green peas that make the evening even more relaxing and enjoyable. These Kebabs are the best way to add nutritious spinach in your diet and also it’s a popular tasty treat in Indian restaurants. Now, the ingredients that are used in it are very common and you will get easily in your kitchen pantry.

Hara Bhara Kabab not only looks delicious but also, tasty that makes you hungry at first sight. If you have kids, who love burgers, they will definitely like this dish. Therefore, let’s start with the recipe.

Learn how to make Hara Bhara Kabab:

Serves: 4 servings (8 pieces)

Required Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Spinach
  • 2 mediums of Potatoes (boiled)
  • 3/4 cup of Green Peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 Green Chilli (roughly chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp of Ginger (chopped or grated)
  • 2 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • A pinch of Green Cardamom Powder
  • 1/4 tsp of Garam Masala Powder
  • 3/4 tsp of Dry Mango Powder (Amchur Powder)
  • 2 and 1/2 tbsp of Roasted Gram Flour
  • 3 tbsp of Breadcrumbs
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1 tsp +2 tbsp of Oil

Procedure

  • First boil the potatoes in salted water, till they soft. If you are using fresh green peas, then boil them in hot water, until soft. Immerse the spinach into the hot water for 2-3 minutes.
  • Drain using a colander and immediately transfer spinach into cold water.
  • Roughly chopped the blanched spinach.
  • Now, heat the 1 tsp of oil in a pan on the medium flame. Add green peas, blanched spinach and salt.
  • Stir and cook spinach along with the green peas mixture, till almost moisture is evaporated and it turns dry.
  • Add coriander leaves and turmeric powder.
  • Put ginger and green chilli in a small chutney jar of a mixer grinder.
  • Grind them until the medium coarse texture. Add cooked spinach-green peas mixture and grind again, till smooth texture.
  • Mash the boiled potatoes in a medium size bowl. Add crushed greens, garam masala powder, roasted gram flour, dry mango powder, breadcrumbs and salt to taste.
  • Now, mix all the ingredients properly and if the mixture is wet or sticky, add more breadcrumbs.
  • After that, grease your palms with oil and divide mixture into 8 equal portions. Give it a round shape of a ball.
  • Slightly press it gently to flatten it and give a shape like Pattie.
  • Heat the oil in a non-stick pan over the medium flame.
  • Put 2-3 tikkis at a time and shallow fry, till the bottom surface turns light brown.
  • Turn each green tikki and shallow fry from another side, until the light brown.
  • Repeat the same process for the remaining Tikkis.
  • Hara Bhara Kebab is ready, serve it with ketchup or with beaten curd.
