It’s been a while since we’ve presented a Paneer recipe on our blog. So, this time, we are coming up with the exotic delicacy that consist of Panner. Till now, you have eaten many dishes, which are prepared with the cottage cheese, such as Malai Paneer, Palak Paneer, Matar Panner, Kadai Paneer and many more. But, have you ever tasted Methi Paneer? I think a very few are there, who have heard the name of this dish before. No worries!! As today, we are going to render the process of this wonderful dish.

Methi Panner is one of the best recipes with fenugreek leaves, prepared by this, which is not only healthy, but also a nice and tasty gravy of cashew nuts, garlic and onion, whose flavours combine well with fenugreek and paneer, giving it a complex yet rich character. And, I’m sure that after eating it, you would say it’s Yummy! Therefore, let’s start with the recipe so that you can cook it for tonight’s dinner.

Prepare a tempting Methi Paneer to enjoy your dinner:

Required Ingredients

MethiPaneer

  • 1 cup of Fenugreek Leaves (chopped Methi Leaves)
  • 1/2 cup of Paneer (Cubed into 1-inch pieces)
  • 1/2 tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
  • 1 small Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 small Tomato (finely chopped)
  • 6 Garlic Cloves (chopped)
  • 1 tsp of Ginger (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp of Cashew Nurs or Almonds (chopped)
  • 1/8 tsp of Turmeric Powder
  • 3/4 tsp of Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp of Coriander Powder
  • 3/4 cup of Water
  • 1/4 cup of Water
  • 3 tbsp of Oil
  • Salt according to taste

Procedure

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a wok (Kadai) over the medium flame. Now, add cumin seeds and when they start to crackle, add onion, garlic and ginger.
  • Fry them and cook, till onion turns light pink.
  • Now, add chopped tomato, cashew nuts and salt.
  • Quick fry, till the tomatoes turn soft. Transfer the mixture to a medium bowl and keep it aside for a while.
  • Now, transfer the mixture to the small chutney jar of a mixer grinder and grind to a smooth paste.
  • After that, heat 1/2 tbsp of oil in the same pan and add the paneer cubes. Fry them, until they turn light golden brown on all sides. Take them out and put on the tissue paper to remove the excess of oil.
  • Again heat 1.5 tbsp oil in the same wok (Kadai) on the medium flame. Add chopped Methi leaves.
  • Stir and cook around for 2-minutes. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and coriander powder.
  • Mix properly and cook for a minute. Add onion-tomato-cashew nut paste.
  • Again stir it and cook for 2-minutes.
  • Add 3/4 cup water, mix well and cook for a minute.
  • Now, put fried paneer cubes and 1/4 cup of milk. Mix properly and cook, till you get the desired consistency of gravy.
  • Turn off the flame, Methi Panner is ready to serve.
