Chevrolet Beat:-

First Launched in 2009 followed by a diesel variant in 2011, Chevrolet Beat proved to be one of the best hatchback cars in India. The automaker had introduced the diesel variant at a time when petrol price hike has put the Indian consumers off buying a hatchback car or bound them to make a switch from petrol to diesel. Later on, it received first facelift treatment in the year 2014 with some minor exterior and interior tweaks. In an attempt to enhance the consistency of sales here in the market, now the automaker is bringing an updated version of the same in India, which is under development and has been getting the final touches.

Chevrolet Beat

A test mule of the same has also been caught on camera and raised the sensation among the buyers. Moreover, the company has revealed an official image of the same earlier this year and hints of what the upcoming Beat will look like. Instead of using a new-gen platform like the globally based unit, the India bound model will be based on existing one. On the mechanical front, there would be the same 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.0-litre diesel engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox generating 78 PS of power with 106.5 Nm of torque, 57 PS of power with 142.5 Nm of torque respectively.

Maruti Baleno RS:-

Since the debut of all-new Baleno hatchback in India October 2015, the renowned auto major Maruti Suzuki has been witnessing a real growth in its sales number. In order to keep things going, the company had also brought a sportier version of the same at 2016 Auto Expo. Christened as Baleno RS, it is very much identical to the standard Baleno and will be added to the company’s lineup by the early next year. Some of the noticeable changes will get to see in the form of a chrome highlighted front grille, a redesigned front, RS-badging new alloy wheels, and a rear bumper.

Maruti Baleno RS

The most interesting thing about the Baleno RS is its an all-new powerhouse i.e. a 1.0-litre, three cylinder BoosterJet petrol engine which is currently being offered under the hood of global-spec trims and capable of propelling the car with an 111 bhp of power. Albeit, it is unclear to us whether the engine will be coupled to the same 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit as on its global units or will come with a new option. Features like dual front airbags and ABS will come up as standard along with this unit. It might also get attached to advanced stuff like a reverse camera with parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, smart navigation facility, electric adjustable and folding wing mirrors.

Hyundai Eon:-

Hyundai Eon, an entry level model in the company’s lineup, first entered the Indian automobile segment in 2011 and has been favoured for its advanced fluidic design philosophy and premium interior. However, the presence of a new competitor in the market equipped with many young technologies as well as automatic transmission option has bound the automaker to refurbish its players. As the automaker is well cognizant with the market hence it has already started working on a facelifted Eon that is likely to be offered with automatic gearbox option as well. It is expected to house extensive tweaks over both inside and outside, while the rumours online are that it will only exhibit changes over its exterior.

Hyundai Eon

When it comes to powertrain, the facelifted Eon is will possibly carry over the same options that of the existing one. In India, Hyundai Eon is currently being sold in two engines namely an 800 cc petrol and a 1.0-litre three-cylinder unit. While the former is tuned to belt out 55 bhp of power with 74.5 Nm of torque, the latter is good for a power of 68 bhp with a  torque of 98 Nm. It has not confirmed yet, but, Hyundai may offer four-speed automatic transmission with the 1.0-litre variant.

With a range of products already in the pipeline, the Indo-Japanese auto major is planning to introduce the hatchback based crossover, the Ignis in the domestic market. First displayed at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show followed by 2016 Auto Expo and 2016 Paris Motor show, the Suzuki Ignis will be available here on the shores in the first quarter of next year and will take on the likes of Mahindra KUV 100, released earlier this year. Based on the same platform that of the Baleno, it is expected to house features such as projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, smartly-designed grille, flared wheel arches, a large rear windshield,  plastic cladding on the rear bumper well-sculpted hatch door, and some others.

Maruti Suzuki ignis Crossover

Inside the cabin, the Suzuki Ignis, being sold only in Japan, flaunts a dual-tone dashboard, SmartPlay infotainment system, automatic climate control, heated front seats, among others. For safety, it comes with ABS with EBD, side and curtain airbags, dual front airbags, ESP, and lane departure warning facility. India-based Ignis will get the same powerhouse including both petrol and diesel that is underpinning the Baleno hatch. Where the diesel-powered unit has a 1.3-litre DDiS unit generating 73.9 Bhp of power and the petrol-powered derivative has a 1.2-litre K-Series engine producing 84 Bhp of power. For transmission, the car will sport manual and an AMT options.

Tata Hexa:-

We all are acquainted with the fact is that the native automaker Tata Motors is soon going to add an all-new premium crossover to its portfolio. Christened as Hexa, it first made its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and later also came at the 2016 Auto Expo. The details have already been rendered online released officially by the company that consists of both the cosmetic and mechanical. For starters, it is based on the automaker’s existing Aria platform and available in both six-seater and seven-seater layout. To increase the off-road capabilities, the SUV loaded with the rugged body cladding and a pair of large 19-inch alloy wheels.

Tata Hexa Crossover

On the mechanical front, the Hexa will come up with a 2.2-litre four-cylinder VARICOR 400 diesel motor which also features the new Safari Storme and capable enough of generating a massive power of 154 bhp in conjunction with the 400 Nm of peak torque. Nissan Micra:-

Nissan, a renowned Japanese auto major had first revealed the next generation Micra at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. With aggressive styling, better safety equipment, and  advanced tech the fifth generation Micra has lighted the spark at such event. The car’s styling is based on the ‘Sway Concept’ that was first put in front of the public on display at Geneva Motor Show last year by the company. The automaker has hinted the arrival of this unit in the other global market by March 2017 followed by India in next year. Dimensionally, it will be designed with the length of 3,99 5mm, a width of 1,742 mm, a decent height of 1,452 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,525 mm.

Nissan Micra Hatchback

When it comes to powertrain, the international-based model will be available in three different engines options that include a 1.0-litre 3 cylinder unit, 0.9-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged unit and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel 4 cylinder DCI unit. However, for the Indian market, the latest generation Micra might get offered with either a 0.9-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine or a 1.5-liter diesel one. Moreover, it’s been rumored that a 1.0-liter petrol naturally aspirated mill producing 73 hp of power would probably be introduced later. The transmission duties would come out in the form of a 5-speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic unit.

Honda WR-V:-

Honda’s all-new hatchback based crossover, which had recently celebrated its world debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo International Motor Show, is also reported to be available in the Indian car place in next year. Once arrive, the WR-V (Winsome Runabout Vehicle) will be slotted into the carmaker’s crossover portfolio under HR-V and CR-V and above the Jazz hatchback. Claimed to be a perfect example of ‘tough and urban’ SUV design it will basically target the buyers who are modern freaks and love to drive compact utility vehicles.

Honda WR V Crossover

As the model is a replacement for the Honda Fit Twist model, it will come up with the same driving facilities and transmission options as of the said unit. The specification of the petrol derivatives includes a 1.2-litre, i-VTEC and a 1.5-litre i-VTEC motor that produces 88.75Bhp with 110 Nm and 118Bhp with 145 Nm. The diesel motor, On the other side, will carry a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder unit churning out 98 Bhp with 200 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will be there as a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual and a CVT gearbox.

Hyundai i30:-

Hyundai, the Korean automobile manufacturer has pulled the covers off from the new generation Hyundai i30 first at the Frankfurt motor show and later on also made its presence at the 2016 Paris motor show. While the European auto market is expected to get this new version of the car in early next year, some buzz has also been hinting about the India-spec unit that is like to arrive on the shores by sometime later next year. Besides, Hyundai had also displayed this model at the Auto Expo in early this year. The most anticipated hatch from Hyundai features a completely new design ideology.

Hyundai i30 Hatchback

Based on the evolved Fluidic 2.0 design philosophy, which underpins the all-new Elantra introduced recently in the Indian auto market, the i30 hatch is longer, wider but shorter compared to its predecessor and now stands at 4,340 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width and 1,455 mm in height. Beneath the hood, the 2017 Hyundai i30 is likely to be available in three petrol motor options including a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo, a 1.4-litre 4-cylinder turbo unit while the single diesel motor of a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder motor will come with three states of tune. A six-speed and seven-speed transmission options will be there.

Tata Motor’s latest offering hatchback Tiago seems to have found a right corner in the automobile industry and helped the company to regain its lost positions in the last few years. With the looking over the success of its hatch, the native automaker is reportedly working to ready a hatchback-based crossover for the Indian auto market and would be shared the platform with the company’s current hot-selling hatch the Tiago.

Tata Tiago Aktiv Crossover

Tata Tiago Aktiv will possibly look different from the said one as it receives a lot of add-ons. Besides, it may stand at a higher ground clearance aimed at benefiting on the Indian bumpy roads and may also sport new alloy wheels.
