Yesterday BCCI (Indian Cricket Control Board) took very important decision regarding to sponsorship of the Indian Cricket Team. On Monday Sahara group declared ineligible for this sponsorship at the time of bid for sponsorship. Sponsorship of the team has been handed for next three year to Star India Pvt. Ltd.

“Star India Pvt. Ltd. will sponsored to India team from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2017. In these sponsorship rights the BCCI, ICC, and ACC competitions are included and others included are professional logo with senior men’s team, U-19 men’s team, men’s A-team and Women team” Said BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel after meeting of the board’s marketing committee.

Sponsor of Indian Cricket Team

A Few months ago Sahara has decided to leave the sponsorship because of some financial problems with BCCI in that case after this month Indian Cricket team will be without sponsor. It is listened that Star will pay Rs 1.92 crore for every match organized by the board. Bids for this sponsor were accepted till 3 PM on 9 December 2013. Seven claimants were there for taking sponsorship. Star India Pvt. Ltd. And Sahara India Financial Corporation was the most rivals for this sponsorship.

Sahara started to blame on BCCI after this decision. They claimed after ignoring them that if they wanted to disqualify us then why they didn’t decide before starting of bids. It is heard that Sahara’s bid was largest among all. they were paying for each BCCI match Rs 2.35 crore and for ICC match Rs. 91 lakh with total bid amount was Rs 252 crore whereas Star bid was less then this only 203 crore. So this decision looking quite fixed.
