Tata Nexon AMT

Turbocharged Tata Nexon AMT is one of the official partners of the ongoing IPL 2018. The two pedal beast will be kept on display across all the venues. A special Nexon carrying personal autographs of all the 8 captains from of franchise teams will be auctioned at the end of the biggest cricket festival on the planet. The money from the auction will go to the Tata Cancer Care Trust.

TATA Nexon AMT packs a punch with its SUV like performance packed in a sports coupe design. Boasting a sports coupe inspired aerodynamic design, the TATA Nexon will be available in six variants: XE, XM, XT, XZ, XZ+, XZ+ dual-tone and XZA+. Under the hood, the Nexon will be powered by a turbocharged 1.2-litre petrol (110PS/170Nm) and 1.5-litre diesel (110PS/260Nm) engine options. Both the engines come mated to a standard 6-speed manual along with an optional 6-speed AMT. As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, the Nexon claims to deliver 17 km for the petrol and 21.5kmpl for the diesel version. Further, the Intelligent Transmission Controller equipped with smart features like Anti-stall, Kick-Down, and Fast-off ensures best power/torque output features.

Not just performance, the TATA Nexon grabs eyeballs with its design too. The Design ensures top-notch safety and best in the business comfort. Tata Nexon has an Energy Absorbing Body Structure with a ground clearance of ground clearance of 209 mm (unladen) and has a boot space of 350-liters. Mini Countryman

The second-gen Mini Countryman is now locally assembled in India. On its official page, the Mini Countryman stresses on Adding stories, space, and substance. On the style front, the new Mini Countryman inherits the three-way structure of the side view – broken down into the roof, glass section and the main body coupled with the classic short overhangs and large wheel arches. Ford Freestyle

The all-new “COOL and CONFIDENT” Ford Freestyle combines smart sporty exterior with premium interiors. India’s first CUV comes in two engine variants. The petrol variant derives power from the new 1.2l Ti-VCT petrol engine with minimum emission. The Diesel variant runs on a 1.5l TDCi Diesel Engine with an impressive fuel economy of 24.4km/l. Ford plans to lead the B-segment with its top-notch safety features which include: ARP powered by the HLA, ABS, and EBD, 6 Airbags as well as ESP(Electronic Stability Program), Emergency Assistance and Traction Control.

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris has redefined the mid-size sedan i.e the C segment. The 1.5-litre dual VVT-i petrol engine powered Toyota Yaris is well on its way to staking a claim at being India’s safest Midsize Sedan. It will reportedly be offered in 4 variants – J, G, V, VX. Toyota will also offer a petrol manual or petrol automatic option for each of the variants.

Toyota will equip even the base models of the Yaris with 7 airbags. The Yaris boasts of five-star safety ratings from the coveted New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asian Countries. The automatic variant gets a CVT unit. While standard variants will carry ABS and EBD, Premium variants will have Disc brakes on all four wheels, ESP and Traction control system as well as Low Tyre Pressure Warning System.
On the design front, the Yaris draws inspiration from the likes of Corolla Altis and the Camry. On the inside, It will come equipped with a 7-inch infotainment system, auto climate control with roof-mounted rear AC vents and a powered driver’s seat as well as projector headlamps, daytime running LEDs, tail lamps with LED graphics on the outside.

BMW has taken a leap in terms of the design. The mid-size SUV sits on a new platform that renders it more aerodynamic than the previous version. Also, an all-new suspension promises a safer and smoother ride. Buyers will have engine options to choose from. The car in its segment will be pitted against Volvo XC60, Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover and Jaguar F-Pace.

With the BMW x3 attempts new design patterns with bigger kidney grille, new fog lamp units, new tail lamp design and an automatic tailgate. On the inside, it comes equipped with a floating-type 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and three-spoke steering wheel.

Makers will launch the flagship offering in two engine variants: the xDrive20d Expedition and xDrive20d Luxury Line. The 2.0-litre diesel engine in Each variant will be tuned to deliver 190PS of maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque. The engine will be coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Mahindra XUV500

The 2018 Mahindra Suv facelift comes with a host of cosmetic and feature updates that include smartwatch controlled BlueSense app. The base model comes with a price tag of Rs 12.32 lakh whereas the top-of-the-line W11(O) AWD variant may cost XUV lovers up to 18.98 Lakh. The 2.2-litre diesel variant gets a power update. It now churns out 155PS and 360Nm of torque.

However, the same capacity petrol variant inherits the power and efficiency of the outgoing model. It comes mated with automatic transmission only. Buyers of the diesel variant will have the option of choosing from either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission. Interestingly, the Indian Automaker has christened the variants as W5, W7, W9, W11, and W11(O). W11(O) being the top end model.

Being a facelift, the overall profile remains non-tinkered. A few minor twitches include new alloy designs, emergency call feature in limited variants, ESP (electronic stability program), Anti- RollOver Assist and Hill Hold. ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) is however available across the range.

The inside gets perforated leather upholstery and a piano black finish dashboard. In addition to the dual front airbags, higher variants get side and curtain airbags. The list of borrowed features from the retiring model includes the sunroof, six airbags, ESP and 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Audi RS5

The German Automobile maker is known for its premium offerings and two-door Audi RS5 coupe carries that glorious legacy ahead amidst some noteworthy updates. A distinctive change in the second generation model is the wider front honeycomb grills with chrome garnish finish. Other features which make the luxury sports car stand out include matrix LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, 3-zone air conditioning, electrically adjustable front seats with memory and massage function for the driver, new MMI controls, voice commands and Bang & Olufsen sound system with 19 speakers.

Alcantara leather upholstery perfectly complements the sports-themed dials and steering. The RS5 despite being lighter boasts of a larger wheelbase that paves way for more leg room. It has enough cabin space to accommodate up to four people with ease, Audi lovers will have eight color variants to choose from. Among the eight color variants on offer watch out for the Panther Black Crystal Variant.

Under the hood, Audi RS5 is powered by the 450PS 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo petrol engine. The trademark Quattro design enables seamless power transmission to all the wheels. With a proven fuel efficiency of 10.8kmpl, The V6 bi-turbo needs little introduction. It sprints naught to 100 Kmph acceleration in 3.9 seconds and comes mated with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. With an electronically capped top speed of 250 kmph. All in all the Audi RS5 is a perfect cross between class, power, and royalty.

Hyundai i20 Active

The new Hyundai i20 Active has little to boast of in terms of mechanical as well as cosmetic updates. The cross hatchback looks and feels startlingly identical to its previous version. It borrows the new dual-tone color option and additional features from its sibling, the Elite i20 facelift, launched earlier this year at the Indian Auto Expo 2018. The new dual-tone color option will only be offered on the top end SX variant.

On the inside, new color-coded accents and upholstery dominate the cabin which boats of an adjustable front armrest with cup holders. On the safety front, ABS with EBD come as standard across the range. Side and Curtain Airbags, as well as the ISOFIX child seat anchors, remain restricted to the top end SX variants.

The Elite i20 Active borrows its features from the Elite i20 facelift which includes an improved 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, auto climate control with rear AC vents, rear parking camera with sensors, automatic projector headlamps LED DRLs.

Under the hood, The Hyundai i20 Active 2018 comes in two engine options: 1.2-litre petrol engine and 1.4-litre U2 CRDi Diesel engine. Both engines mirror the power and fuel efficiency of its predecessor. The petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Diesel engine, however, is coupled with a 6-speed manual transmission. The petrol engine churns out 83PS/115Nm with a fuel efficiency of 17.19kmpl compared to the 90PS/220Nm diesel engine’s efficiency of 21.19kmpl. Land Rover Range Rover Evoque

Tata Motors-owned Land Rover has recently launched the Evoque Convertible in India. Only the premium top-end model HSE Dynamic variant will be available for sale and it will come with a Rs 69.53 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India) price-tag. Reportedly, The Landmark edition of the Land Rover was launched earlier this year with the premium price-tag of Rs 50.20 lakh.

On the other hand, Range Rover has launched three variants of the Evoque christened as SE, HSE and HSE Dynamic. The variants fall in the price range of Rs 50.45 lakh to Rs 59.99 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). Land Rover also offers an additional, which was launched in January 2018 at price of.

The Evoque’s 2.0-litre diesel engine is capable of producing peak power of 180PS at 430Nm of torque. The engine is coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission that transmits power efficiently to the four wheels. In terms of safety, The Evoque is equipped with 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, RollOver Stability with hill descent control and trailer stability assist, dynamic stability control,all-terrain progress control, traction control. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

The Japanese Automaker has launched only a single variant of its flagship offering for the premium SUV segment. However, the Prado VXL will give every other luxury car in its segment a good run for its money both in terms of power and safety.

As far as engine and transmission are concerned, the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado’s 3.0-litre diesel engine gets the trademark Toyota 5-speed automatic 4WD transmission.
