The 3rd generation of Maruti Suzuki Swift is here. With the addition of modernity and attractiveness, the new hatchback looks extremely contemporary. The attraction responsibility is clearly platformed by rear sports taillights, two-tone 15″ alloys, DRLs, new design up front, petrol and diesel with an automatic system.

What Is The Difference Between 2018 Swift and Dzire?

The face of the two has some similarities but when it comes to attributes and sporty look, the 2018 Swift is different. It has a refined headlamp mentioning the character of the car and freshness of the model. Although the proportions of the car are very much similar, the all-black treatment on the grille and retaining primary colour, Red make it separate out.

The new model adds space in the cabin and touchscreen in the central console which shows similarity with the Baleno, the Ignis, the S-Cross and Apple CarPlay. It has got climate control system, a three dial-like design, climate display, flat-bottom steering wheel, modern layout, well finished instrument cluster, the dials with a reddish-orange trim, a curvature on the backrest, comfortable seats, decent amount of knee room and legroom, nice headroom, Isofix child seat restraints at rear bench, and well-integrated music system. Coming to the missing list, it does not get the touchscreen on the ZDi variant, rear AC vents, a touchscreen in the central console is out other than in ZDI+ and ZXi+, signature, and the DRLs are missing in some variants.

Same Petrol And Diesel Engines:

The new car carries the same 1.3 DDiS or Fiat-derived diesel multijet and 1.2 K12 petrol engines. The reason for repetition was that it is nice, good to drive, peppy and efficient enough. The engine is nice with quick response, manual gearbox, and facility of four drivetrain iterations.

Gets AGS First Time In India:

This time the AGS or the AMT version is available with the petrol and diesel engines. Petrol variant generates 82 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque whereas the diesel variant produces 74 bhp of power and 190 Nm of torque. We expect now and 2020 Maruti will get a contrast roof and the petrol swift as well.

New Heartect Platform:

The big difference can be seen on the new Heartect platform which is good to ride with better handling option. Although we can see a miss when it comes to flatter tyres which could have made the look sportier, the riding quality is overall the USP of the new car.

Price:

The new Swift starts pricing for the petrol model from Rs. 4.99 lakh to Rs. 7.29 lakh, whereas the diesel variant is available starting from Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs. 8.29 lakh. The difference between the previous and new model is of Rs. 18,000.
