As Monsoon has already entered into India and a very few globetrotters visiting the country due to bad weather, resulting in a fall in the business of the hotels. So, the hoteliers of the 5-star hotels come up with the attractive offers for the globetrotters, which hike their business. Both, leisure and business travelers are high-spending segments, but during the rainy season, both are down.

To increase the room occupancy, hotel owners providing rooms at lower rate to attract domestic as well as international tourists. The Taj and Le Meridien hotels offering up to 35% discount on special packages during  this ongoing season. Mr. Parveen Chandra Kumar, General Manager (GM) at Taj Lands End, Mumbai stated,

“Owing to specially curated packages from hotels and airlines, it has proven to be an extremely economical season for people to travel in”.

The Le Meridien, Kochi offers discount up to 30% between June and August. Vivanta by Taj-Fort Aguada, Goa, is providing a three day package including all buffet meals, taxes, airport transfers and a fourth night complimentary at Rs 33,000. The Grand Mercure Goa Shrem Resort, and Novotel Goa Shrem Resort are offering 20% discount for a two-night stay.

For the last few years, the hoteliers have seen huge growth in the business by the domestic tourists, which moved for long weekends.
