2016 was a full of surprises for the auto enthusiasts that starts with country’s biggest motor show where an array of new and updated cars were brought up by their manufacturers to cheer the audiences. From entry-level hatchback to an affordable sedan or mid-size crossover to purely luxurious SUVs, all were there, out of which, some vehicle has already been out for sold in the country, while many are still set on launch card. Maruti Suzuki is also one of them, which came with several fresh and revamped machines like Baleno RS, Ignis Urban Compact, etc. Unfortunately, no such car except Vitara Brezza from Maruti Suzuki has been found in the list of newly launched cars in 2017. Looks like, it will be 2017 that is going to host all these launches. So a list is here of all those cars which are going to make their presence in the next year.

 Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

Vitara Brezza is the company’s first sub-compact SUV that first ventured into the Indian auto segment back in March this year. Undoubtedly, the company was a bit late to join such segment, but once it did, it saw a real growth in its sales graph as well as garnered positive reviews from the owners. The ongoing model, however, only available with single engine unit, the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel. Spurred on by its great success here in the country, the company is now planning to introduce a petrol engine option of the same that might happen by the last quarter of this year.

Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

From what we know so far, the upcoming Maruti Vitara Brezza petrol edition will come up with 1.0-litre Booster Jet engine that will also do perform in the aforementioned Baleno RS. Just like the RS performance hatch, the petrol-powered Brezza will also get a 5-speed manual transmission for sure, while an automatic transmission could be there as well. It goes without fact, the petrol unit will be priced slightly lower than that of the diesel one. Visually, there won’t get to see any changes except a different set of alloy wheels.

Maruti WagonR MPV

This will be absolutely fair if we say that the WagonR is somewhat a best seller for Maruti Suzuki here in the country. By looking at the continuously increasing demand among the car enthusiasts, recently the automaker has also launched a special edition unit of the same that has greeted with a range of comfort, entertainment, and convenience features. Now Maruti Suzuki India Limited is thinking of adding another new model in its lineup that is likely to be based on the same tall hatchback platform or basically a 7-seater version of the WagonR.

Maruti WagonR MPV

The concept model of WagonR MPV was first brought out at the 2013 Indonesian International Motor Show. Interestingly, the carmaker has also imported earlier two units of the same for homologation purpose. One of them was packed with a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol motor while the second one came along with a 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor that currently powers the Swift hatchback. There are also rumors about the MPV to get offered with 0.8-litre diesel twin cylinder DDiS mill that serves the Celerio. Expect a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission there.

Maruti Ciaz Facelift

Suzuki Ciaz first came at 2014 Auto Expo as a preview of what was eventually going to be a replacement for long-running SX4. Since then, it has been selling like hotcakes thanks to its sleek design, dynamic personality and outstanding features. Now some reports are emerging online that the mid-size sedan is going to have it first mid-life refreshment which will occur by the first half of next year. These are expected to come in the form of both cosmetic and styling as well as some mechanical refurbish would also be there.

Maruti Ciaz Facelift

Cosmetic updates will possibly include a new front grille, redesigned bumper, and new LED DRLs. It might also house an electric sunroof and a new set of alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, it might sport a new infotainment system that compatible with Apple CarPlay. On the mechanical front, the ongoing Ciaz is available with a 1.3-litre diesel engine and a 1.4-litre petrol unit. The facelifted unit will retain the former option, while the latter might get replaced by a more powerful 1.5-litre M15 motor. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox for petrol only.

Maruti Swift AMT

 

The burgeoning dominance of the automated transmission vehicles over the Indian car enthusiasts can be clearly seen by the increasing sales numbers of this segment. With people preferring AMT units to the manual ones, the carmakers have also started adding such facility into their existing car lineup. So, how can Maruti sit behind despite the fact that it had launched the AMT unit for the first time and the Celerio was its first car to receive such facility followed by Alto K10 and Dzire?

Maruti Swift AMT

Now, the automaker is planning to add another AMT variant in its Indian car lineup that is going to come up with its much in demand hatch, the Swift. The diesel-powered Swift trim will get this automated manual gearbox sourced from Magneti Marelli, similar to that of the Dzire compact sedan. It is currently available as a 1.3-litre multijet unit that is capable enough of propelling the car with a power of 74Bhp with 200 Nm of maximum torque.

Maruti S-Cross Facelift

The S-Cross, which first went on sale in the country back in August 2016, was the company’s first offering from the Nexa dealership. Equipped with a range of best-in-class features, it was the automaker’s first C segment crossover model, however, didn’t witness much positive response that the firm expected from the consumers. Now, the carmaker is bringing the facelift version of the same that was revealed first through an official video in July this year and later came in front of the public at Paris Motor Show. In the new avatar, it houses more distinctive features and upright front-end styling that makes it more appealing.

Maruti S-Cross Facelift

The 2016 Maruti S-Cross will come up with a revamped front fascia highlighted by an updated grille and vertical slats, as well as new projector headlamps featured with LED DRLs. The biggest changes that you will get to see will lie beneath the S-Cross facelift hood. As the reports suggest, it might share the powertrain with Vitara S. The details include a 1.4-litre, direct injection, generating 140 Bhp with 220 Nm and 1.0-litre turbocharged BoosterJet petrol engine producing 110 Bhp of power and 175 Nm of torque. 2017 Maruti Suzuki Swift

There is no secret that India’s well-known family car maker Suzuki is actively working on next-generation Swift hatchback, a prototype of which has been caught several times on camera by the spy photographers. Besides, a set of computer originated images of the same were also touched online, giving a closer idea of what the production-ready unit would look like. Sources close to the development process hint that the 2017 Swift will be designed slightly longer, lower and wider in dimensions. Despite being more in dimensions, it will be much lighter than the current generation Swift, as it shares its underpinnings with the Baleno hatchback, which has the most lightweight chassis in the company’s lineup.

2017 Maruti Swift

The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will make its global debut at Geneva Motor Show, scheduled in March next year. Taking some notes from the leaked pictures, this hatch will come up with a completely new face dominated by some modern ages as well as house a revamped interior along with more contemporary features. On the mechanical front, it is likely to be powered by the same set of engines that are currently doing their duty in run-of-the units. Maruti WagonR Diesel

With the ever-raging popularity of the small diesel cars in India has bound many automakers to revise their lineup existing in the market. Maruti Suzuki is also one of them which is reportedly working on a diesel derivative for two of its most demanding product – Alto 800 and Wagon R that will make their sometime in next year. Once landed up, it will lock the horns with the likes of Chevrolet Beat and Ford Figo hatchback that fits in the similar range and ranking up big numbers of sales with their diesel variants.

Maruti WagonR Diesel

Nothing has officially been revealed by the company yet, albeit, the diesel-powered WagonR might come up with  1.0-litre, 3-cylinder mill. This engine is expected to make run the unit with a decent power of 55 bhp and 150 Nm of torque. Moreover, with the low kerb weight and some other updation, it is believed to be offered as slightly more fuel efficient just like Chevrolet Beat.

Maruti Alto 800 Diesel

It goes without saying that Maruti Alto 800 is the best-selling product from the company thanks to best in class features as well as range-topping fuel mileage. The automaker, essentially, launched the unit as a replacement for the aging M800 which enjoyed such a prolonged period of dominance here in the country. Now for 2017, the company is reportedly planning to offer a diesel variant of the same. Instead of sharing the platform with the ongoing unit, it might grace by an all-new platform along with some different styling.

Maruti Alto 800 Diesel

No official confirmation has been out about the car’s powertrain yet, but, it is believed to come attached with a 793 cc, twin-cylinder DDiS engine that is currently underpinning the Celerio hatchback. By looking at the recent launches of Renault Kwid with a 1.0-litre engine, Kwid with AMT, which is the closest competitor of the Alto, Maruti Suzuki might also introduce a more powerful mill of 1000 cc displacement along with an AMT support under the hood of its upcoming Alto 800 diesel unit.
