In the first half of the year, a big number of launches take place and there are many more for upcoming years and months. More exciting, the May launches are also on the way to reach us soon. Without wasting much of your time, let’s jump into an acknowledgment of the cars going or expect to launch in May 2018.

1. Maruti Ciaz 2018

Maruti Suzuki is the newly crowned leader of the C-segment and awaits a mid-life update. In its three years on the roads, the Ciaz has passed the likes of Hyundai Verna as well as the Honda City  in terms of sales.  With few mechanical updates, there would be little change as far as the price tag is concerned. On the cosmetic front though, the Ciaz gets new LED Daytime running lamps which are now segment standards. Additionally, projector headlamps could be on offer albeit limited to higher-spec trims only. The front facia will be retouched  to add a fresh appeal to the bumper and the grilles.

Under the hood, the Ciaz facelift will be powered by the 1.4-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel engines mated to five-speed manual gearboxes. Speculation are high that a 1.6-litre Multijet II diesel engine variant could be on the cards. The  1.6-litre engine Maruti Ciaz would compete neck to neck with the likes of top-spec Honda City in terms of pricing. On the safety front, the Ciaz ticks all the right boxes with dual airbags, ABS with EBD, force limiters. A welcome addition on the list of features for the Ciaz  Facelift would be wipers.
