Get the whole recipe of Coconut Barfi (Nariyal Barfi):


  • 1 cup of crushed coconut (without brown skin)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsps condensed milk
  • 2 tbsps milk
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder (Elaichi)
  • 3 tbsps finely chopped cashew nuts (Kaaju)
  • 1 tbsp ghee

Method to prepare it:


  • Put crushed fresh coconut, ghee and sugar in a non-stick wok (kadahi).
  • Now, heat the mixture over medium flame.
  • Stir the mixture continuously and cook, until it turn to light brown. It will take around 10 minutes.
  • After that, add condensed milk and milk into the mixture. Stir properly, till the mixture gets thick.
  • Now, sprinkle cashew nuts and cardamom powder over and blend it well.
  • Finally, turn off the flame.
  • Now, greased the ghee over a plate and pour out the mixture into it.
  • Spread it uniformly by using a spatula and cool it for around 8 to 10 minutes.
  • And, now cut the Nariyal Barfi into square or diamond shaped pieces with the help of a knife or spatula, according to your choice and enjoy.
