The total number of employees during its formation was about 12,165. The state is divided into 4 police ranges and 3 commissionerates including Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ambala-Punchkula. The department is headed by Director General of Police and governed by Ministry of Home Affairs.

Haryana Police is recruiting candidates for the post of constable. There is a requirement of 298 male constables and 10 female constables. The pay scale for the same is Rs. 5200 – 20200/-. The qualification required for this job is intermediate from recognized board along with a secured position in national school games, national level tournaments organized by national federations.
