2018 witnessed a series of Launches in the ‘World of Cars’ and the most popular and widely searched were the ‘Sedans’. This shows the Indian Buyers’ love for Sedans; the Badi Gaadi.
The top-five sedans which have been most liked by the buyers and have been widely searched on Carwale are discussed below:
Hyundai Verna
The company launched Hyundai Verna sedan this year, which became popular in context to its features. The car was made available in two engine options i.e. Petrol and Diesel based. They were respectively, of the capacity 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre.
The bigger engine has an automatic transmission feature and can run by both Petrol and diesel. The feature of this sedan which has been most liked in India was it’s being very spacious, its comfort and practicality.
Honda City
‘Honda City’ is known for its distinctive style and wow! Performance. This year the car which was earlier launched in 2017 with a new set of cosmetic and upgraded features, came up with bigger grille with a thick chrome strip running across it. This car with this advanced feature launched in the row just after Accord hybrid.
The car, due to such features looked muscular and with a bumper brand new look. This car has also been made available in 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines options. The automatic option was limited to the Petrol option.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
Another classy Sedan ‘Ciaz’ was launched this year by Maruti Suzuki. It became popular due to its lower cost of ownership. In the month of August, Maruti came with the facelift version in the Country with a fresh set of cosmetic and upgraded features. The Ciaz later came with additional and refreshed features like a new 1.5-litre K15B petrol motor which produces 103bhp at 6,000rpm and 138Nm at 4,400 rpm.
The four-cylinder motor was attached to a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission. The diesel engine is the tried and tested 1.3-litre DDiS churning out 89bhp and 200Nm. Both the engines get standard of Maruti’s SHVS hybrid system.
Skoda Rapid
In the Skoda product line, ‘Rapid’ is considered as the Hotseller in the country. 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options are available in this product category. Both the engines are fully automatic.
The multi-slatted grille with a chrome border contributes to the mature look of the car. The Sedan is built such that the user gets a good drive comfort, decent rear space and an ample amount of boot space.
Toyota Yaris
The Japanese automaker launched ‘Yaris’, The latest Sedan from Toyota. This is a very modern looking sedan with ample amount of features. The aggressive slim headlamps provide a striking look to the model. Along with this, the sharp two-tone bumper and the sporty nose type feature with the Toyota logo makes the features of the model quite attractive.
Toyota Yaris comes with a limitation of a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an optional seven-speed CVT transmission. Giving first-in-class features to Yaris was the chief motive of Toyota. Safety has been kept as the first priority and thus, Yaris is facilitated with seven SRS airbags (SRS D+P airbags, SRS side airbags, SRS Curtain Shield Airbags (CSA) and SRS knee airbag), ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitor system, vehicle stability control, front and rear parking sensors and disc brakes all around.
