Soon, Chennai will get India’s largest railway food court at its Tambaram station, which includes more than 25 brands that will provide Indian and Continental food to passengers and others. And, it will take six months for the food court to be constructed, so till then railway passengers have to wait.⏰ According to the report, around 1.7 Lacs travelers will benefit from this.

This food plaza will be set up at three venues- one at the concourse, another on the GST side and third on the Eastern side of the Tambaram railway station. It will cover the area of 15,000 square feet, which will be the largest occupancy in any railway station across the country. The food court will be run and managed by J.S Caterers, an Erode-based catering chain.

At the same time, IRCTC should control over pricing and also maintain & check the quality of the food served to the passengers at the food court. Currently, 135 food plazas are running in Indian railways?, out of which 37 are operated at the Southern Railways. Commuters can now order their food according to their choices as there will be everything from Medhu Vada, Appam, and Parotta to Pizzas? and Burgers.?

One of the designers of the food court named as MR. Pavan Khatri told about the design that around 14 counters will be there in the basement and the whole outlet will be air-conditioned. Besides these, people can have coffee☕️ in the stands at the entrance.
