Today, our next recipe is based on the Chinese dish known as Veg Hakka Noodles, which is a favorite among kids and adults. In many parts of India, it’s also known as Chow mein loaded with lots of veggies. The vegetables that are present in it, plays a vital role in giving that smoky flavor, which everyone loves.

Chinese people enjoy this delectable snack in the main course, but here in our country, it’s eaten as a starter. In this delectable dish, you can add veggies of your choice. So, we are sharing the recipe of this wonderful dish that can be cooked in just a few minutes.

How to prepare Veg Hakka Noodles with step by step instructions:

Ingredients

  • 200-250gms of Hakka Noodles
  • 2 green chilies
  • 2 tbsp onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium sized carrot (chopped lengthwise)
  • 1/2 medium sized capsicum (chopped lengthwise)
  • 1/2 cup of medium sized cabbage (chopped lengthwise)
  • 3 tbsp spring onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp of vinegar (Sirka)
  • 1/2 tsp of soya sauce
  • 1/2 tsp of green chili sauce
  • 1.5 tsp of pepper powder
  • Salt according to taste
  • 1.5 tbsp + 1/4 tsp of oil

  • Start boiling with the 3-4 cups of water and add the noodles into it.
  • After that, drain them and rinse with the running water for removing the starch and also makes the noodles less sticky.
  • Now, drain them properly and add a few drops of oil. Stir them, which prevents them sticky. Keep the aside.
  • Heat the oil in a wok (Kadhai), and add green chilies along with chopped garlic and stir them well.
  • Then, add all the chopped veggies and saute it properly. Sprinkle soya sauce over it and stir them again.
  • Now add vinegar, green chili sauce, pepper powder, salt and keep stirring until all the ingredients uniformly mixed.
  • Finally, add cooked noodles and stir quickly till the noodles is blended with all the veggies.
  • Hakka Noodles is ready, serve it with tomato ketchup.
