The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 is the most appealing motorcycle that is featured with an aggressive look and modern technology as it becomes the Fastest Pulsar Yet, but it is not the first motorcycle in the segment of sports motorcycles, the KTM RC 200 is available in the market that has also made its appearance in the market under the Bajaj Auto. Both the motorcycles are available in the one roof, but the difference is that the Bajaj RS200 is developed in the house, while the KTM is an international brand. Which brand will you prefer?

The Pulsar RS200 and KTM RC 200 are the fully faired and fast performance motorcycles. Both the motorcycles look very impressive and promising with its design and body architecture. The head-down and tail-up stance will surely bring a bit smile on your face.

As for the design and look, the build quality of the RS200 is very impressive. The RS200 is inspired by its naked version named Pulsar 200NS as it assembled on the same chassis. The fully-faired motorcycle has received all new twin projector headlamps, a comprehensive instrument cluster and daytime running lamps. It gets deflective windscreen that is integrated with the front fairing, while the mirrors are located on the front visor. The motorcycle has received split seats, which look very impressive and meaningful for a comfortable cruising. As talk about the KTM RC 200, there is one common thing in the name of the both motorcycles is RS and RC. Moreover, the KTM RC 200 is also inspired by its naked version, KTM Duke 200, such as the motorcycle is built on the same chassis and engine as its elder sibling . The KTM RC 200 is a fully faired version that gets twin projector headlight and pilot DRLs that gives a sharp and aggressive look to the motorcycle. The motorcycle has a single unit seat, in which the passenger seat is integrated with the rear cowl. A thin tail section carries a mounted number plate holder and brake light.

Technical Layout

The engine architecture of the both motorcycles is remaining the same as their elder sibling. In fact, the KTM RC 200 has a little bit more power and torque than the Pulsar RS200. It would be expected that the Pulsar RS200 provide more fuel economy than RC 200.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 houses an 199.5cc single-cylinder, four-stroke and liquid-cooled displacement engine which returns a 24.2 BHP of power at 9,750 RPM and 18.6 NM of torque at 8,000 RPM. It would be better for the power output if the engine is equipped with a fuel injection system. The Bajaj’s patent technology Digital Twin Spark Ignition (DTS-i) will provide an ultimate throttle response. The motor continues to be paired to the six-speed gearbox. And, the claimed fuel efficiency should be approximately 54 KMPL, which is higher than RC 200.

The KTM RC 200 is powered by a 199.5cc displacement engine which is loaded with a single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled and spark-ignition unit. Furthermore, the motor pumps out a 25 HP of power at 10000 RPM and 19 NM of torque at 8,000 RPM respectively. The engine is featured with a fuel injection technology, which promises for a maximum power outputs.

Handling and Riding Quality

It is the first thing which is considered about sport motorcycles before making any decision. The Pulsar series is rewarded by its handling quality. The Pulsar RS200 and KTM RC 200 have excellent ground clearance and ergonomics. The motorcycle carries a length of 2,060 mm, width of 750 mm and height of 1,160 mm, while it measures 165 mm of ground clearance. On the other hand, the KTM RC has 178.5 mm ground clearance.


The motorcycle weighs 151kg, that is 6 KG more than the naked Pulsar 200NS. The motorcycle is built in well manner from each dimension that will surely give an ultimate stability on the highway. Safety Components

Both the motorcycles use standard tyres for the better road grip in the both dry and wet road conditions. The Pulsar RS 200 gets a 300 mm butterfly disc in front and 230mm butterfly disc brake at the rear. The Pulsar RS 200 is coming with ABS that is standard in this motorcycle. If we are talking about KTM RC200, the RC200 is blessed with a front disc with four-pot brake caliper and rear brake with one-pot brake calipers. The KTM RC 200 is not featured with an Anti-lock Braking System.
