UPSC LogoUPSC or Union Public Service Commission is a government board, empowered to deal with the exams related to various civil service examinations, engineering services examinations, defense academy examinations etc. The major personnel of the commission including chairman and members are elected by the president of India. Half of the members of the commission have an experience of minimum 10 years in civil services.

Union Public Service Commission requires 15 candidates with qualifications of Post Graduate degree in Economics / Applied Economics / Business Economics / Econometrics from a recognized University or Institute for the post of Indian Economic Service and 23 candidates with qualifications of Bachelors degree in Statistics (multiple branch options) from a recognized University or Institute for the post of Indian Statistical Service. The applications for the same can be filled online latest by 10th March 2014.

Educational Qualification – A Bachelors degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics /Applied Statistics or Masters degree in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics /Applied Statistics from a recognized University or Institute.

Selection Process – Selection will be based on performance in written examination and Interview.

Application Fee – Candidates are required to pay Rs. 200/- in any branch of SBI by cash or Net Banking or Debit Cards.
