One of the famous five star hotels- The Lalit is now opening first time outside India that is in London, England. The famous grammar school which is right next to the London’s iconic Tower Bridge is now becoming the city’s most opulent hotel. St. Olave’s Grammer School, the first international venture of Lalit’s Suri Hospitality Group’s is now converting it into a five star hotel.

Mrs. Jyotsna Suri, Chairperson of the Group stated that, “The hotel will be 70 room boutique hotel which will open its doors to the public in March 2016”. Mr. Lalit Suri was the husband of Jyotsna Suri who was also a member of Rajya Sabha and was expired in 2006 at the age of 60 in London. He was also a member of FICCI delegation for the India- UK Investment Summit.

The Group has 17 luxurious hotel, including 3600 rooms with lavish services in 11 operational hotels and there are six hotels which are under development. In the next 5 years 25 more hotels will be open.

“The building is a 175 year old listed heritage property in the heart of London. We don’t intend to change the character of this masterpiece but will only restore it to turn it into the hotel. This will be our first hotel outside India. We bought the property for 15 million pounds at a Christie’s auction three years ago. The whole venture of converting it into a hotel will cost around 40 million pounds”. She has also mentioned that, “London is part of our life because we lost Lalit here. Hence this property is very special for us. The group today has 17 hotels across India with the latest one opening in Chandigarh”.
