The Yamaha Two-wheeler maker has recently added another entry-level motorcycle in the list of commuter bike named Yamaha Saluto. The motorcycle received a refined engine compartment that achieves the best fuel economy in the 125cc category. But, there is a herd of the commuter motorcycles in the domestic market, which has already made their position in this category. Let’s have a look over some of its major aspects that will help the Saluto to make its position in the two-wheeler market. Here is one of the closest rivals, Honda CB Shine, in the domestic market that will give a tough reactance to the Saluto.

The Honda CB Shine is one of the best trustworthy commuter motorcycles in its category that rewards you with its stunning style and excellent fuel economy. The motorcycle has received a new body graphics that give a fresh look to the motorcycle, whereas the 3D emblem of Honda wing over the fuel tank adds more taste in its beauty. Powered by an air and cooled 124.7cc, this Honda CB Shine offers a healthy power of 10.12 BHP at 7500 RPM, while the 10.54 NM of torque is very near to the 5500 RPM. All the power is kept under controlled by a four speed transmission.

The engine is programmed with company’s reliable technology named Honda Eco Technology, which makes the power output and mileage very impressive as per the Eco mode and Power mode. The Honda CB Shine delivers an impressive mileage of 65 KMPL. The motorcycle has received a 240mm disc at the front and 130mm drum brake at the rear with Honda’s Combined Brake System (CBS). The advanced diamond frame is coupled with a front telescopic fork and spring loaded hydraulic suspension at the rear. The motorcycle carries a total weigh of 120KG that is pretty much enough in this category. The price of this motorcycle is INR 61,000.

The Yamaha Saluto is the fresh arrivals from the Yamaha two-wheeler maker. In terms of design, the Yamaha Saluto and Honda CB Shine have almost same body cues and design such as headlight, side panels, tail section and black coated elements. The Saluto has received all new air-cooled, single cylinder and 125cc engine displacement, which slightly returns healthy power outputs and incomparable mileage. The engine is based on company’s Blue Core technology, which make it able to deliver a maximum power and torque. The 125cc engine unit compiles a maximum power of 8.2 BHP at 7000 RPM while the 10.1 NM of torque has arrived at 4500 RPM. The engine is mated to a four speed transmission. The fuel economy of this motorcycle is 78 KMPL that is pretty much suitable for a daily purpose roam.

Yamaha Saluto

The manufacturer did not bless the Saluto with the front disc brake, such as the braking duty are measured by a 130mm front and rear drum brake. The motorcycle rides on a front telescopic suspension and rear dual spring suspension. The kerb weight of this bike is only 112 KG. The motorcycle is sold in the domestic market at INR 52,000 (Ex. Showroom).
