Most of your mouths get drool by just looking them once and talking about the aroma of the Paneer delicacies, which enhance the appetite. As we are bringing one of the dishes of Paneer that is Paneer Tikka, a popular North Indian starter that can be made at home in an easy way. Basically, it’s called Tandoori Paneer Tikka, because the paneer cubes and veggie pieces are grilled in Tandoor. But at home, you do not have it, so we will be preparing it without Tandoor, and you will not have to compromise on the taste and texture.

It takes a little time as many ingredients are used in it. So, below we are providing you the recipe of Paneer Tikka that really taste good exactly like the restaurant one. Try it at home and relish with your family having this wonderful dish.

Ingredients (For a plate)

  • 1 large block of Paneer
  • 1 onion
  • 1 capsicum

Ingredient for Marinade

  • ½ cup of curd (dahi)
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp of ginger paste
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 2 tsp of chaat powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp aamchur powder
  • 1 tsp fennel powder (sauf)
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • Salt according to taste

How to prepare Indian Paneer Tikka on stove top

  • Take a curd in the muslin cloth (a lightweight cotton cloth) or you can also use a man’s handkerchief.
  • Now, put in the strainer and keep a bowl under it to collect excess water.
  • Keep it in the fridge for about an hour, until all the water drain out.
  • After 1 hour, you will leave with the thick curd in the cloth. Take out it in a bowl.
  • Now, add all the spice powders along with the salt and mix it properly.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste into the mixture and blend it well.
  • After that, add lemon juice and continue with the stirring.
  • The marinade is ready.
  • Cut all the veggies and Paneer into 1 inch pieces and cubes respectively. Make sure that the size of the veggies and the Paneer should be same.
  • Add them into the prepared marinade and mix gently so that all the pieces coated with marinade.
  • Cover it with the plate and let keep the mixture in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
  • Now, arrange the veggies and Paneer on the skewer or toothpick and brush all the sides with the oil.
  • Heat the non-stick griddle (tawa) over the medium flame. Place the skewer or toothpick over it and fry them slightly.
  • Turn it and cook all the sides, until it gets golden brown for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Paneer Tikka is ready. Serve it with coconut and green chutney.
