Online Food marketing in India is growing at fast speed and with an aspires to maintain its dominance in the market, Foodpanda-one of the India’s largest online food ordering company has now forayed in the food delivery segment.

At present, the company is focusing on those restaurants having their own delivery services as well as those having no such services, with new offerings. Mr. Saurabh Kochhar, Chief Executive Officer (COO) of Foodpanda stated,

“Although the service was launched recently, we have already clocked 20% orders and are hoping to escalate this figure to 60-70% by next year. By extending our services from the online stage of ordering to actual delivery at the consumer’s doorstep, we aim at augmenting our customer engagement with Foodpanda and deliver to a larger set of partners”.

The multi-location online restaurant listing and review platform Zomato stepped also into this realm and announced its entry into the food ordering services. Currently, this delivery service covers five cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. And, in next three to six months the company is planning to increase this number up to 12.

Foodpanda is launched in 2012 and till now, it has partnered with over 12,000 restaurants across 200 cities and globally, it operates over the 40 countries with around 45,000 restaurants. Mr. Kocchar added,

“By extending our services from the online stage of ordering to actual delivery at the consumer’s doorstep, we aim at augmenting our customer’s engagement with foodpanda and deliver to a larger set of partners”.
