The German bike maker, BMW Motorrad is all set to launch two products as BMW S 1000 XR and BMW G310R in our country in 2017. The firm also created a quite roar at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 by unveiling its street tracker, G310R. While, on the other side, the Italian motorcycle manufacturing company, Ducati is also planning to land their iconic products as Ducati XDiavel and Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 on the Indian roads in this year.

BMW S 1000 XR:

BMW Motorrad is planning to launch a new adventure and sports bike, named S 1000XR. The motorcycle is known as supreme comfortable and easy to handle. The racers thanks to its incredible power and aerodynamic stance as it makes a quite roar on the racing tracks. It is expected that the bike will touch a top speed of 201 KMPH.

Talking about its powering, the motorcycle gets the power from a liquid cooled, four strokes, 16 valves, an inline and 999cc engine that produces a peak power of 160 BHP at 11,000 RPM and a vertex torque of 112 Nm at 9,250 RPM. The powerplant is mated to a six-speed transmission. Taking about the safety features, the motorcycle is loaded with several safety components as ASC (Automatic Stability Control), DTC (Dynamic Traction Control) and ABS Pro (Automatic Braking System).

BMW will update their S1000 range bikes with mechanical and cosmetic updates. The S1000 XR will come and rest 2 bikes S1000RR and S1000RR are running in India. So, there is no idea when S1000 XR will launch in India.

Now comes to the expected launch and price, the BMW S 1000XR may be launched by the earlier of 2017 with an expected price tag of Rs 21 lakhs.

BMW G310R

The German giant made a lot of hubbub at the Delhi Auto Expo 2016 by revealing the street fighter, G310R. This roadster is the first offering bike from the collaboration of BMW and its Indian arms TVS in the domestic market. The motorcycle gives aggressive look as it is featured with sharp fairing and muscular fuel tank. Other noteworthy features are golden colored USD forks at front, a V-shaped front headlamp, and Red/Blue stripes.

The BMW-TVS G310R is powered by a 313cc, water-cooled, fuel injected motor that churns out a maximum power of 33.6 BHP at 9500 RPM and a vertex torque of 28 Nm at 7500 RPM. The mill is paired to a six-speed gearbox that manages through a multiple disc clutch. It is expected that the bike will touch a top speed of 145 KMPH. The bike will give a mileage of around 30.5 KMPL.

Talking about the price and launch date, it is expected that the bike will be available in the domestic market at price of INR 2 lakhs to 2.5 lakhs by the middle of this year. G310R may be launched in first quarter of 2017.

Ducati Supersport

Ever since its launch, Ducati has been endeavoring to solidify its foot in India and it has certainly grabbed the market by iconic machines. Out of a host of spellbound products, the Italian major is focusing on a more road-oriented sportster, which is sporty yet appropriate for daily commuting. The bike is the Supersport, which is likely to dish the segment in 2017.

However, the ergonomics are not as rich as the Panigale range, still, the motorcycle is a package of electronic goodies and rider aids. Featuring a 113 horsepower engine displacing 937cc, the Supersport is fueled by a 4.2 gallon fuel tank, which maintains medium distance rides.

Apart from this, it also gains the full complement of riding modes just like other bikes from Ducati, viz, Sport, Touring and Urban. Thanks to the Free Trade Agreement between and Thailand, the bike will be boarded to India with less taxation (if any).

The Ducati is gearing up to extend the portfolio of Scrambler in our country. The Italian firm will launch its scrambler bike, named Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 in first quarter, 2017. The motorcycle gives smooth and easy riding as it is featured with a steel trellis swing arm, standard Showa fork at the front side and Kayaba rear shock and pre-load adjustable at the rear end.

The Scrambler Sixty2 is powered by the air-cooled, L-Twin and 399cc engine that delivers the 41 BHP at 8750 RPM and a vertex torque of 25.3 ft-lb at 7750 RPM. The bike will be available at the expected price of INR 4.75 lakhs.

Ducati Hyperstrada 939

The Ducati Hyperstrada 939 is an upgraded form of the Hypermotard concept with a series of cutting-edge technologies and features for a new riding experience even when you are away from home.  Built around the famous Hypermotard’s steel tube trellis frame, the adventure tourer is blessed with new 937cc, Testastretta L-Twin engine. The upgraded mill is now able to deliver a peak power of 112bhp and the vertex torque of 98Nm. Respired by the oil cooling radiator, the more powerful than ever, complies the new EURO 4 emission norms.

The major highlight on the aesthetics front is the sporty and vivacious character along with handguard mounted LED indicators from the automaker’s racing lineup. Electronically, it is garnished with the features like Bosch ABS system, traction control, three riding modes option and drive by wire technology. Moreover, other utilitarian features for enhancing the riding joy on an adventure trip include touring windscreen, comfortable seat, center stand, side bags, remote rear suspension pre-load adjuster and more. The Hyperstrada 939 is expected to launch soon as the automaker has started to accept bookings for the tourer. Potential buyers can place their order by making payment of INR 2 Lakh token amount. On pricing, it will receive an expected upsurge of INR 50,000 than the outgoing model.
