While the Elantra and Corolla come with a petrol and a diesel powertrain options, the Octavia is offered with two petrol and one diesel motor options. Moreover, the Octavia is the most powerful car of the segment, as even its lighter engine 1.4-litre petrol is more powerful than the 1.8-litre petrol of the Corolla Altis and 2.0-litre petrol of the Elantra. Not just in the petrol, the Octavia also rules in the diesel category, but only over these two cars, not over the Cruze. When it comes to diesel segment, the Chevy Cruze wins the battle unanimously because of its monstrous power output with the 2.0-litre engine. However, the Octavia also features the engine of the same capacity.
