The most awaited festival of married women?is approaching known as Karwa Chauth, which is celebrated in all over India with a lot of rejoicing. This auspicious day is the mark of traditions and rituals for all married women, who keep the fast for all day without drinking water for a good fortune and long life of their husbands. Karwa Chauth signifies the love❤️of husband and wife towards each other. After seeing the moon?, women end their fast and, then eat.

Now, fast would be simple and boring if there won’t be any special delicacies to hop on. There are several varieties that can be prepared and served on this day. So, to enhance the spirit of the festival, we are presenting a few lip-smacking dishes, including one recipe of Palak Paneer that add more colors to this day.

Ingredients

  • 1 large bunch of Spinach (chopped)
  • ½ cup of Paneer (cubed into 1/2-inch pieces)
  • 1-2 Green Chillies (seeded and chopped)
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 4-5 cloves of Garlic (crushed or paste)
  • 1 tsp of Lemon Juice
  • ½ tsp of Kasuri Methi
  • 3 tbsp of Fresh Cream
  • ¼ cup + 1/3 cup of Water
  • 2 tbsp + 1 tbsp of Oil
  • Salt according to taste

Procedure

  • Clean and rinse the spinach in water to remove the impurities.
  • Now, to lighten the spinach, boil it in salted water for 2 minutes.
  • Drain it by using a perforated spoon or strainer.
  • Immediately transfer the drained spinach into cold water and keep for a minute.
  • Remove the excess of water and transfer the spinach to the medium sized jar. Add ginger, green chillies and ¼ cup of water and grind, till smooth paste.
  • Heat the oil in a kadai (wok) over a medium flame and add the paneer cubes and shaTransfer them to a plate and to remove excess of oil from the paneer cubes, place them on tissue paper.
  • Again heat the remaining oil in the same kadai (wok) on the medium flame.
  • Add finely chopped onion and stir fry, till it turns translucent.
  • Add crushed garlic and stir fry for around 20 to 25 seconds.
  • Add spinach puree and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 1/3 cup of water, mix well and bring it to boil.
  • Now fry them, until the sides turn light brown.
  • When the gravy starts to boil, add shallow fry paneer and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • After that, add lemon juice, Kasuri Methi and mix well. Switch off the flame and mix milk cream.
  • Palak Paneer is ready to serve, transfer it to a serving bowl.
